Transformational Leadership: Principal Intellectual Stimulation In Improving Teacher Competences

Various efforts have been made to improve teacher competence, but there are still many institutions that not optimized capacity development. This study examines the intellectual stimulation of principals in improving competence two favorite East Java region SDI Qurrota A'yun Tulungagung and MI Perwanida Blitar. uses a qualitative descriptive method with multi-case design. Data were collected through 16 teachers one school committee, student guardian, community leader, employee determined by random purposive sampling. Information was obtained interviews, documentation, observation. The results this indicate role leaders forming various competency improvement programs; (a) Program in-service education. leader delegates professional pedagogical competencies, which consist advanced programs, equivalency studies, Teacher Professional Education (PPG), (b) training. Leaders delegate competencies training activities, seminars, workshops, webinars. (c) conducted program on-service as facility (1) Supervision Activities Working Groups (KKG), (2) actively competing, (3) writing papers, (4) collaboration activity, (5) social service (6) religious activity (7) Job rotation, (8) Curriculum integration according institution's development distinction, (9) Technology-based learning.
